That's not even close to being the same thing. When the US government recognizes something it doesn't supercede US law. The US merely concedes that the foreign contract will be binding in our own system as well.

What you're suggesting is a law "take the place of" US law. That's not acceptable.

I haven't said anything about law superceding US law. It's just a fact that non-US laws are considered in US courts and adjudications, not just American law. Banking law, tribal law, international commerce, tariff law is all about considering the laws of other sovereigns when adjudicating in US courts.

I voted for Obama. I could have voted for McCain until he pivoted on his entire political career in the campaign and made Palin his VP.

I could vote for Romney without holding my nose but I expect he either won't get nominated or will have to have some fire breather as VP to appease the base.

I will happily vote for Obama again if the nominee is Perry or Bachmann.

That's pretty darn close to my sentiments. I do hope Romney gets the nomination, and I think if he can win New Hampshire (he's not even campaigning seriously in Iowa) he has a real chance.

The bad news for Obama is that he doesn't need to lose his "base" He only won by 5 points. If he even loses the "novelty" vote he is done.

The system has been systematically designed to fail black males, which fails black families which makes black families dependent, which makes them easy to control. Control where they live, work, go to school (so they can be failed), who they associate with, inject into them drugs and a violent mindset further assuring failure in society. It allows the government to control them and get from them what they want. Dependents.

One of these days blacks will figure out that the Dems are not their friend. You would think that decades and decades of no improvement would give them a clue. The only thing Dems wish to promote is the status quo.

I'd love for the black minority in this country to "join the rest of us" but as Gary's pointed out, until they decide to do so, it's just not going to happen.

What possible good could come from a President Michele Bachmann? You're against the regimers, aren't you? That's exactly what she is - a regimer. She's relied on Uncle Sam's teat her entire life. Whether drawing funds from federal programs, whether drawing paychecks from the IRS where she worked to litigate delinquent taxpayers, whether drawing federal funds - all the way to the grave - from Uncle Sam for her Congressional position. She has never done anything else than work for and live off of Uncle Sam. She's the very definition of a regimer. How can you support her? Do you really buy into her campaign rhetoric? For example, there is no denying that there are religious perspectives involved in the regulation of abortion by states, the prohibitions against prostitution, pornography, gay marriage and polygamy.
