Not sure if this is the right forum...

I did a google search to try and find the answer to this question - but it seems as though there are a lot of different opinions and then there is the actual embassy website (which I am guessing is what I should go by, I just want to make sure I'm reading it right).

So - when do we pay the embassy fee? The embassy website say, "K Visa Applicants pay the fee to the Operator Assisted Information Service prior to attending the visa interview. Instructions concerning payment will be sent to you with the appointment letter." However, some people on this forum have said that they will not give you an appointment letter until they have payment.

We have schedule our medical, will be sending in DS-2001 and supporting forms next week...do we wait for the appointment letter or call and pay next week as well??

When you get the appointment letter you should pay over the phone. You will need your case number and other details like name and personal things. You will get an email to confirm payment, PLEASE PRINT THIS and take it to the interview as proof.

Hope this helps

I've known people to pay way in advance and others who pay after they get their appointment date. Either way works as long as you get the receipt email to print before going to the interview.
