I don't know how it goes for dresses but it's seriously wrong with bra sizes. Not too bad in the smaller sizes (under a D) but as it starts to get up there it's so wrong it's funny. For instance, in Aus it goes D, DD, E, F, FF, G, GG, H, HH, J, JJ yet that site says there's an "I" size and there isn't. It neglects to mention the FF's and GG's etc

For bra's this is the best: http://www.bellaforma.com.au/shop/Size-Chart-p-3.html they ship all kinds so of course actually know what they're talking about. I've never had an issue.

 Are you sure they didn't mean "eye" size? NM

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Thanks for visiting. If you'll notice, there's not even a Russian conversion for bras. If we ever happen to go to Australia I'll be sure to use this one.

In the mean time... Russian bust size is pretty easy. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Bras get a little more complex because you get some from Italy, some from the Orient, and some from who knows where. But, it's pretty standard that the measurement around the body is the number (70, 75, 80) and then the cup size is applied using whatever formula/combination of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or A, B, C, D, DD.

Bras in Russia (at least some parts of Russia, anyway) aren't all coming from the same place, so it's completely possible she could have several different sizes - especially for different types of bras. You're talking about manufacturing specifications the world over. Not exactly standard. The sad fact is there really is no good conversion and a good rule of thumb to use is to have her give you a couple different sizes - 1 Italian, 1 European, 1 Asian, you may even get one American. Chances are she'll know her "American size" since Chinese bras (that were made for Americans) end up in Russia. Take a ballpark figure for all of them averaged together.

But, no matter how good that fuzzy math is, chances are also that she'll have a 75D and an 80C and both will fit her just fine!

Since we're on the subject, for those of you still in the buildup stages, go to Victoria's Secret or something like that and talk to the manager. Ask, "My girl is a European size 80D... what would that be here?" And then pick out a few (and only a few, them jokers are like $50 a pop!) to send to her so she can try them out. ASK THE LADY!!! Don't walk around going, "Oh yeah, that one's sexy!" Becuase sexy doesn't = comfort. Buy her some comfortable bras. You want them all rested up and well cared for when they arrive, no?

While you're at VS, you can sign up for their mailing list/discount club and you'll get like two sales papers a month, a few catalogs a year, a free pair of panties every month, and $10 off bras. That stuff adds up when you're talking $50/each.

Then, after she arrives, make that one of your stops on the first few days she's here. Make sure to get a measurement/fitting and then buy a couple good ones. Her size may change once she's here (good food!) but most likely it won't be because of weight gain it'll be because she's found her type and size and then those are the ones she likes. And transfer all that mailing list ####### over to her name. You may want to sign her up for the VS credit program too. Good credit builder and lots of specials.

Lastly, not all dressing rooms are OK for men to go into. I know it's probably not a big deal in RUB to go back with your wife when she's trying on intimate apparel, but for some reason, here in the States, sometimes they give you the "you big perv" look and ask you to leave. (If you're lucky they don't call the cops.) So, make sure you ask the girl with the walkie-talkie (that isht cracks me up! Do you really need a walkie-talkie in a store?) if it's alright for you to enter as well. If you go back, be advised, it will not go over well for anyone if you're caught peeking in the other changing stalls.

I sure am glad I'm not a woman!

Bras are one of those things Alla still prefers to buy in Ukraine, even though they are not cheaper there. She prefers the ones that look rather elaborate, embroidery, tassles, etc (no NOT tassels where you are thinking) Kind of like part of a belly dancer's costume

I had promised her I would build her a dresser, which I did and one of her requests was for "boxes" (dividers) in one drawer for bras and in another for socks. So a while back she told me to get something out of her dresser and I have no idea which drawer anything is in and I opened her bra drawer and there was her collection of bras all nestled together neatly as if indexed by color and type. I expected them to stand up and salute! I could only think "OMG I married a Soviet!" These damn things could stage a parade in Red Square!

I was warned never to attempt to buy her bra, anything else is OK, but not bras. OK, OK! I get it! I do not know what size bra she wears (I do not need to know) but it would be "medium" if there were such a thing. Nothing like a GG, whatever that could possibly be

I know someone who is a JJ, a 36JJ so not super fat either. The average bra cup size is actually getting bigger. Used to be a C, now it's more D/DD but a lot of girls are E's or more that I know.

Just a note here. VS doesn't actually have the bigger sizes. Depending on your girls bust size VS might not be the place to go. Last time I was there their limit was DD... that was last year. So before you sign up for their ####### try and find out if there's any point first.

As you know it is perfectly accepted and normal for men to go in dressing rooms with their wives in RUB or at least stand outside with their head inside the curtain which looks like a peep show going on! Some stores here do not allow it and the reaction seems to range between "who cares, its your husband" or "#######!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me?" Not much in between. So yeah, expect a little resistance from some stores here. Alla finds such prudishness...ridiculous.

I would say from my hands on experience that RUB women generally have smaller breasts than American women. Not all of course, but I would not even guess that the average cup size in Ukraine is D. I would say B or C (tops) is "average" The women tend to be fairly tall and slender compared to American women and just not top heavy. Also they generally do not have the resources for enhancements and I do not think cosmetic surgery is anywhere near as popular there as it is here, though I think it would be if it were cheap. No one wants to retain their youthful beauty more than a RUB woman.

sign up for the free stuff (panties, et al) But DON'T go there to get your wife fitted, etc. Go to Nordstroms or, if you're in a big city, a specialty store. They don't do a good job at VS. I have heard bad things about their bras as well, but I haven't bought one there since high school.

Where was she when we were all single, huh man? Regardless, thank you for keeping us abreast of this, si man.

Wife: "Honey, does this dress make me look fat?"

Husband: "No, Dear; the dress doesn't make you look fat. You ARE fat!"

On a sadder note, I realized that I was irrevocably married when I found myself standing in the checkout line of Victoria's Secret with two handfuls of women's underwear that She Who Must Be Obeyed wanted purchased, sigh man...
