Marriage certificate from Chile

Welp, got an RFE on our DS-230 packet. Two, actually. One was because we forgot to put a final date or "Present" on the last residence line. I felt really silly for missing that one, but judging from the responses in the "Stupid RFE" thread, I'm not the only one who misses little things like that.

The bigger one was that they said we're missing the correct marriage certificate. Maybe someone from Chile can help with this. My wife went to the Registro Civil and had them print up a copy and stamp it. So when the nice woman from the NVC asked me if I got the copy from the Civil Registry, I told her yes. She asked if I got it from the city we were married in, and I said yes (we were married in Santiago). Then it dawned on me that my wife went to the Registro in Santiago Centro, but we were married in the municipality of La Reina.

The woman on the phone couldn't confirm that this was the problem, she said a supervisor would have to review it, but that could take up to 15 business days. I can get another copy in that time.

So, I was wondering if maybe someone "in the know" about Chile could give a little more clarification on this?

Thanks!

Michael

In terms of the Marriage Certificate - I've just sent in the same kind of certificate with my I-130 packet. We just got our NOA-1 so I don't know if there'll be problems with it, but hopefully not!

We were married in Maipu and got the certificate at the same Civil Registry in Maipu, but I don't think it should make a difference to get the certificate in a different communa within Region Metropolitana. They're not very official looking printed certificates. I don't know of another kind you can get. Perhaps you could also include a photocopy of the Marriage Booklet you receive at the ceremony? We did that with our I-130 packet.

Hopefully it's helpful to know someone else has used the same Marriage certificate and that it's the only kind we know of!

Hope to hear how your situation works out.
