Thanks singhisking. So the good old postman it is. So is there any use knowing the NVC case number on phone if we have to wait for papers to arrive.

You don't need to wait for papers to arrive.. Just call NVC every day and hope to get the case#, once you will get the case #, give them ur and ur spouse's email ID and ask for Invoice Identification #, this info you will need at later stage for making payments to NVC.

02/28/2011 - Notice of Action 1 (NOA1)

NOA2 to NVC (32 days to get Case number)
NVC: (28 days)
07/18/2011 - NVC Received and got NVC case#.
07/18/2011 - Send my Naturalization Certificate via mail and email for upgrading my case from F2A to CR1.
07/19/2011 - Gave both emails to NVC and received IIN#
07/21/2011 - Got confirmation email about changing my petition from F2A to CR1. Up-gradation took 4 business days.
07/29/2011 - AOS Fee Bill Received & Paid Online.
07/29/2011 - DS-3032 Email sent to NVC from beneficiary.
08/01/2011 - AOS package invoice shows "PAID" and Package mailed to NVC.

They contact you by the email you all put in previous applications. As well it doesn't hurt to call. It seems to me that they are backed up at the moment but I wish you all a speedy process.

I did email NVC today. I've also got a letter to my senator on deck.

I asked one operator how NVC will contact me, and she said if they have my email, it would be by email. So I asked how do I know if you have my email, and she said, "You won't know until we contact you." Hmmm...

We received our NOA2 on Aug 5th. I call everyday and still no case# yet.:( but surprisingly, I get through the automated system on the first try. No waiting or re-dialing but still no case# :(

We received our NOA2 on 27 July and case received at NVC on Aug 1. Still no case number either. Sent out the email with our NOA2 to the nvc email address yesterday. Hopefully we'll all hear something soon.

Nov 4, 2011: Interview date assigned
Dec 2, 2011: Interview at Consulate (Result: AP - No reason given on 221g)
Feb 7, 2012: Passport requested by Consulate
(...Husband needed passport for personal reasons during this time...)
Apr 9, 2012: Passport mailed to Consulate
Apr 25, 2012: Visa issued
May 1, 2012: Visa in hand
May 31, 2012: POE at Montreal's Trudeau Airport
Early July: Physical Green Card received in mail. Yes, it's green!

March 13, 2014: ROC filed (went to VSC)

March 17, 2014: NOA

April 22, 2014: Biometrics appointment

December 9, 2014: Case inquiry initiated

December 11, 2014: Response: "The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required security checks remain pending."

March 14, 2014: Received NOA that approval had been given on March 10; expect new GC within 60 days.
