Yeah, as Amy already wrote, in Russia most people extremely shy about bodily functions (especially with opposite gender). Most of Russian wifes would expect you to go to the bathroom (or at least another room not to be heard) to fart, even if you're comfortably laying down in bed, and most of them would do the same - no farting in front of each other. In Russia many people will be mad if you'll fart being near them, because they think it's very rude. So uncomfortable... I'm very glad and relieved that we're with Amy can be free with each other and she doesn't sending me to the bathroom every time when I eating too much of beans or cabbage.

I wish this were true of the Russian men I know, who not only take great joy in announcing their farts, describing their bowel movements, etc., but also expect adulation based on, ah, severity.

Men, I have found, are men everywhere. Bushmen in Africa love farting. Oxford academics? Also love farting. They might hide it during courtship, but once they are secure in a relationship, they will fart with impunity and also tell you every time they have diarrhea and expect you to google to find out what it means when their poop is green (Am I DYING????).

It's so much truth! When girls think nobody can hear (or understand because of language barrier) their conversation, some of them (of course, not everybody) use so much of Russian filthy language that even old sailor would kill himself from being envy... But really - if guy will tell something like this in front of these girls, they probably will act like they're shocked and never heard these words. I personally prefer to use filthy language as little as possible just because I don't like it, and I really appreciate that my Amy also almost never using it.
