Police certificate!!

Hi all,

I have a few questions that hoping you guys can help me answer them:

1) My wife studied in France for 4 years, she has been back since 2007, her visa was expired already. Recently, we did obtain the police certificate from the Department of Justice in Vietnam. We already had that police certificate in hand, but my question is that did the Department of Justice do a criminal background on my wife during her period of time in France? Or did they just do a criminal background check on her in VietNam only? Also on the police certificate, they didn't say anything clear enough that what did they do.

2) On the paperwork that we submit for the government, we did put the address that my wife used to stay in France, my question is that will NVC ask for the police certificate from France? My wife did go to the France's embassy, she was told to do everything online, but on the website, they request her visa has to be current before they start to do anything for her. What can we do in this situation?

you will need the one from france also...explain the visa situation to the french embassy and follow their instruction. better to have it (or show the CO you're working on it) rather than them giving u a blue and you would've lost all the time you could've gotten it done already.
