Hi All,

I have some Question related to form I-134 and regarding evidence of financial support.

My Fiance had applied for my fiance visa petition which has been approved and it is with NVC right now not sure how much time it will take to come to Singapore Embassy where i am staying for 4+ years and working with one of top American investment bank.

so here is the real thing that i m more worried of.

- My fiancee USC she has left her studies long back after completing her high school she is totaly dependent on her mother income and her mother does not earn enough so i was thinking if i can show some funds in my bank account in singapore and how much will be sufficient also because i have a good job in singapore if i can get a letter from my employer to show that and i am thinking to get 2 months leaves approved by my Manager and a letter from HR stating that i will be joining back my job in singpaore after 2 months is it a good paperwork to get K1 visa approved at US consulate ? or what other evidences i can provide to them ??

-I know its hard to get a job in US as of now atleast in the sector in which i work situation is not that good but in Singapore it is better than that, so i was worried while i be with my fiance after getting married and apply for GC and employment authorisation visa so i will have to wait atleast 3 month with no job and surely if i am there to wait for 3 months i will lose my current job in singapore, i am thinking to get a 2 months off approved by my manager and come over to US with fiance visa done do all paper work for GC and employment authorisation visa and go back with my fiancee to singapore (on a condition of having a letter from my employer that i have to join back once my 2 months leave finish..will they provide me that payroll visa thing to leave usa while my GC petition is on going???? ) and wait for GC done and get a job and then move to US is it possible??? or is there any better way than what i think please suggest?

if someone can put some thoughts on this will be very good for me coz i am kind of nervous person and having this issue in my mind can make me more nervous while at US counslate.

Thanks...She is waiting so i am doing my best.

I am not an expert on this but I believe in order for any of your income to count, you have to have either income that will continue once you are in the US long-long-term-such as investment income, etc. You could use assets such as a savings account. I think the amount for a US citizen is 300%. So for example if your fiance had to come up with another 10,000$ of income, she would need 30,000$ worth of assets. I am not sure if this is correct, though because I did not have this issue and I was reading as the US Citizen. As the beneficiary, the answer might be very different. Just be patient. Other people will read this and respond if they know the answer.

7/15/11 Sent K1 Petition to Lockbox

8/10/11 STILL NO NOA1!

8/12/11 Called USCIS to get receipt number-NOA1 will be resent

8/16/11 Received NOA1 with date of 7/20/11

1/3/12 NOA2!!!

1/12/12 Got email notice we are through the NVC.

K1 is a single use visa. The plan you describe would require at a minimum an advance parole so that you could reenter the US. Returning to work outside the US could raise questions from the officer processing the adjustment of status.

If you want to be able to work upon US entry then a spouse visa would be needed. For that you would marry, then your spouse would apply for an immigrant visa.

Funds held in Singapore would be factored at a 5:1 ratio. For a household of 2 you would need to demonstrate a US value of approximately $92k.

It takes about three months to get AP. You have two huge hurdles. First, applying for AP is done concurrently with applying for Legal Permanent Resident status. This status is only granted to people actually residing in the USA. Your plan seems like one designed just to have a wedding in the USA and return to Singapore to live. If you do that, you'll need to start over again with a spouse visa before returning, and then only when you are ready to reside in the USA.

The financial issue must be solved with a sponsor living in the USA, using qualifying income or assets. As a spouse, YOUR assets can be considered but not YOUR income unless it will continue from the same source after immigrating to the USA.

If you don't plan to live in the USA, what's the point in taking the K1 visa route?

Thanks for your insight. Maybe i wrote it in a bit wrong way, i do want to get setteled with my fiancee in USA thats what her parents want, i was looking to go back Singapore while my GC is being processed because i do not want to lose the source of income coz i be taking care of my faincee then and with no money in US waiting for EAD and GC done and then search for the job when market is not so good, i was just worried and wanted to know that that is why i thought its good to go back Singapore and wait till GC is done if i get a AP approved (If showing my Singapore employer letter is not a good reason i can say me and my fiancee are going to visit my parrents back in my country?) else i wont move.

Chances are, you'll have a joint interview in the States just before your green card is issued. They'll want to see that you've been living together as husband and wife, in the USA during that time. Else you won't move where, to the US or won't go back and work in Singapore?
