Female on AP again

My spouse had her interview on 14JULY11. Interview went well and at the end CO asked for more pictures and gave her green refusal sheet and Kept the Passport. We sent the documents via PIA EXPRESS the next day. We contact the Embassy a week after and got informed that Documents were recieved and are in order but our case is under AP. Thus we have to wait for atlest 45 days.

I am just concered that she wasnt informed about AP on the day of her interview. Is there such a thing as mandatory 45 days AP for everyone ?

For certain countrys yes they do have mandatory AP.

Where is your spouse from? It isnt too common for females but it does happen and right now some of the countries that didn't put females in AP are doing it more and more. All you can do is wait it out like everyone else...its frustrating and consuming but it will have an end.

I am a USC but she is from Pakistan. After the interview they asked for proof of ongoing relationship. They have recieved those documents but when we called the embassy after the Interview. They said my our case is going thru an AP and documents are being reviewed.

During the interview they kept her original passport along with all the original documents.
