Hi everybody! ..Im from Peru and im engaged with a US citizen...he is from Michigan .. we have been together for almost 4 years and we got engaged in March. Im planning to move to the united states soon so we want to apply for the K-1 Fiance Visa..im confused and i really dont know how to start...we need help! please! :)

You'll need to file form I-129f and the walkthrough is here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

You'll need to get together some documents like passport photos of each of you, his birth certificate, photographs to show you're a real couple and evidence like plane tickets from visiting each other. Most importantly you'll need to prove you've met up within the last two years.

After he compiles that package for you both he'll need to send it to the USCIS (united states citizens and immigration services) office in Texas with a cheque for processing.

Then your file will get looked at and approved within 3 - 6 months.

After that the file will be sent to Peru where you will need to have a quick interview at the US embassy.

Hello! Start with the Guides section of this site! There is a wonderful and comprehensive guide to the K1 you can follow. Basically first you have to make sure you fulfill all the requirements and then file all the forms. People here provide great help based on their own experiences! Welcome to the process.

Our Journey begins

Met online in March 2009. Started dating through Skype in September 2009. Met in person on 03/14/2010. After many visits, both ways, Nate proposes to Liz on 8/10/2010.

Our K-1 Journey
K1 Visa processed at Vermont, approved in 106 days. Approved at CDJ on 19/09/2011
Our AOS Journey from K1

Applied for AOS on 12/27/2011

-AP/EAD combo card processed at Vermont, approved in 86 days. Approved on 3/22/2012; Card Received 3/30/2012

-GC processed at Vermont, approved in 268 days. Approved on 9/20/2012; Card Received on 9/26/2012
Our RoC Journey

08/30/2014: Sent package to Lockbox

09/02/2014: Package Received in Chicago

09/05/2014: Received NOA1 (Extension letter for 1 year)

11/30/2014: Called USCIS, Biometrics appointment not received yet. Appointment letter never delivered to correct address.

12/05/2014: Finally receive Biometrics appointment letter in the mail.

12/30/2014: Biometrics taken in El Paso, Texas ASC

05/08/2015: Approval notice received by email and text

05/10/2015: Approval notice received by mail

05/15/2015: GC in hand

-RoC processed at Vermont, approved in 248 days

Give some time and read through the guide for the K-1 visa and make sure you can support with the required evidences before sending the application, I mean proof of realtionship, which will be required during the interview.
