What is the best job to apply for here in US?

Just heads up... I'm trying to plan my career path here in US. I'm thinking should I teach here since I was a teacher in our country or just look for other job alternatives here. What are my considerations? Less preparation, moderate to high pay, gives more flexible time with the family, features great benefits (like dental and medical insurance, vacation pay, leave of absence, 401K). Any significant advise would be deeply appreciated. Thanks. God bless! :)

Little prep, high pay, flex time, and great benefits? Please send me a message when you find that job :)

When you say teaching, what do you teach? Kindergarten, elementary school, high school, college, PhD? Your salary will usually increase at each level of education. Sure you can have all the high pay, flex time, and benefits you want if you were to teach at a prominent business or law school, but then you'd need a very solid resume. Give us some more info so we can help you.

I would say it all depends on what path you would want to take. If you had experience in teaching, and you want to push thru with that path, then go ahead and get your credentials laid out and ready. If you are wanting a good stable schedule with not necessarily a bad rate, I would stick to teaching.

I have been in the privates sector most of my career and it was so hard to find a stable schedule that will be friendly to my family. I have no desire to join the medical field because it is mostly very hard to find that stable schedule anyway, on top of the fact that I have to go to school for the area that I would be interested in - pharmacy.

I tried the bank and it was pretty good. The pay is not the best and hubby was so worried about robbery and all that, so I quit. :)

In almost any field these days, in the US, it requires a flexible schedule.

Hope this helps!

I have a couple of friends who are elementary school teachers and one who is an elementary school librarian and they love it. Yes, the pay is not the best compared to other fields but they get to do what they love to do which is educate others and the have summers off to spend with their families.

So again, it all depends on how much you love to do it, if you feel that is your calling then it's the best way to go. But if not, then you'd end up hating it.

Hi. Thanks for your response! I'd love to know you and your friends who are elementary school teachers and learn from your experiences here in US as I'm still coping with life here and trying to figure out my career path to take. Looking forward to hear from you. God bless! :D

Well, it took me almost a month read back thru this. Florianns Man, no, I am not a pharmacy grad. I majored in a business-related field. I was just toying with the idea that if I did join the medical field, I would go for the pharmacy field as I am not interested in patient care.
