My fiancee is in Japan and since it is easier to get married there we have been thinking of getting married there an skipping the K 1 visa process. But I was wondering how long I would have to wait to work there in Japan. If anyone knows please let me know your suggestion. Also if you have an opinion on skipping the K 1 proccess by getting married there, let me know

You only need to be there for one day to file I-130 with Tokyo....

Check out DCF/Direct Consular Filing and maybe you can do it on vacation time.

A quick search about an American working in Japan turned up some very useful information on the U.S. Embassy site in Tokyo. http://tokyo.usembassy.gov/e/acs/tacs-7108.html

Like foreign nationals coming to the U.S. requiring a work visa to work in the US so do Americans need a work Visa from Japan if they want to work in Japan.

See Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs site regarding this type of visa. http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/index.html

I hope this helps.
