You can. I sent money to my brother via paypal and asked him to grab some booze and put them in the fridge so they're cold when I stop by. No problems with that. Not sure about them guns but I suspect he could have picked up a gun, too, if I had sent him more money.

That may have been illegal. If you give someone money to purchase alcohol, tobacco or firearms - especially across state lines - you're treading on thin ice. It may have been legal, but maybe not.

That was just an example. I did use paypal to send some funds to my brother once - not across state but across country lines. I don't know what he bought with that money nor do I really care. He was in a tight spot and I helped him out. Big deal. If he happened to buy a beer and a pack of smokes with these funds, come and arrest me.
