Did you keep a full copy of everything you sent in? Have a look through it and see if you can spot anything, such as you forgot to sign one of the forms, or didn't fill out one bit of a form etc.

The best answer is, "...It depends!" I received a RFE due to: 1) My legal name change (two diff last names on my records) 2) proof of divorce from my first marriage (only gave proof for the 2nd). I gathered the info and returned it to them via express mail, in less than 4 days after I received it. So it extended the NOA2 by about 3 weeks. - No Sweat.

Your NOA2 was your RFE hardcopy.

My fiance was asked to submit a waiver to file 2nd k1 petition because his first petition didn't reach in two years. So the embassy asked him to write a letter as a waiver why he file for same petition for the second time and in a different benificiary. They just gonna make sure that my fiance is not a green card giver.

I received an RFE and started to freak out. Turns out they only wanted a better passport photo of me.

yes i suggest you wait for the hard copy unless they send you an email detailing what they want.

Yes it's nerve wrecking trying to guess what they need. Hopefully it will something simple as I'm hoping it will be for me. Best of luck!
