alot of people get rfe's. you have to wait for your hardcopy to know what they need.

Just checked status online and said they are requesting additional evidence. Has anyone had this happened to them, and if yes what is that they usually request for? Feel more nervous than ever... :help: Thanks!

The best answer is, "...It depends!" I received a RFE due to: 1) My legal name change (two diff last names on my records) 2) proof of divorce from my first marriage (only gave proof for the 2nd). I gathered the info and returned it to them via express mail, in less than 4 days after I received it. So it extended the NOA2 by about 3 weeks. - No Sweat. :bonk:

Wait for the letter and you will know what they are asking you to submit. It could be a very minor thing.

The best answer is, "...It depends!" I received a RFE due to: 1) My legal name change (two diff last names on my records) 2) proof of divorce from my first marriage (only gave proof for the 2nd). Thanks for info. I guess I have to wait on letter to arrive and know what is that they are requesting for... And then be able to say it was no sweat!

Me and my fiance did get RFE too. He was asked by the USCIS to submit a waiver to file 2nd K1 petition. We got approved one week after we sent the reply.

As far as I know, it means that; the Petitioner previously applied for a K-1, it didnt work out (break-up, change of heart, etc.) So, they need a waiver to apply for a second K-1

We got an RFE for my divorce papers, which we knew we would get the day after I sent the package and realized I forgot them. Took 3 or 4 days to receive the RFE, overnighted the docs and about a week later had the approval. Added about 11 days, but the good thing is you know someone has done more than touch your package (no TSA jokes please). They at least looked at it in enough detail to see something they needed.

I received an RFE and started to freak out. Turns out they only wanted a better passport photo of me.

K-1 Journey

03-03-2011 - Mailed I-129F application.

03-06-2011 - Packet received in Texas.

03-23-2011 - NOA1 received in mail, dated 03-09-2011.

05-31-2011 - RFE requested. They want better passport pictures of me.

06-06-2011 - Additional passport pics sent.

06-08-2011 - Evidence received and acknowledged. Whew!

06-16-2011 - NOA2 received!

07-20-2011 - Packet 3 Received!

08-01-2011 - Packet 3 returned to Embassy.

You can try calling them and asking what the RFE is for I called it took me 4 days to get someone to give me an answer, but I finally got it before the mailed version. It is best to call around 8pm.
