More details: I knew it was closed before it was in the NVC computer since I saw it on the DHL website the day the packet was shipped, and then less than 24 hours later it was delivered to the consul

On August 4 2011, our case was complete (we didn't receive notification, I called the AVR for this)

On August 17 2011, we received an email assigning us an interview date in September 2011.

07/18/2011 - NVC Received and got NVC case#.
07/18/2011 - Send my Naturalization Certificate via mail and email for upgrading my case from F2A to CR1.
07/19/2011 - Gave both emails to NVC and received IIN#
07/21/2011 - Got confirmation email about changing my petition from F2A to CR1. Up-gradation took 4 business days.
07/29/2011 - AOS Fee Bill Received & Paid Online.
07/29/2011 - DS-3032 Email sent to NVC from beneficiary.

I guess they schedule mid of the month...

Not sure about that (I observed that NVC was taking 7 -10 business days to schedule interviews and there are some who got October interviews - run the relevant report in immigration timelins) but it looks like they close/ finalize the next month interviews around that time frame.

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

I don't think they will ship mine so quickly - not before communicating an interview date.

Just check the way bill - It is Delhi bound waybill - can't be mine.

Just called NVC after 3 days and got a guy who was very polite. But it looks like he was literally reading something pre-written - probably in the system itself. He just read it without intruption and read the exactly the same what the lady read 3 days back.

I am writing almost as he read:

"You case was closed on 8/15 and unfortunately we couldnot schedule an appointment for september with Chennai Consulate due to non-availability of interview slots with the consulate. NVC will schedule an appointment with Chennai Consulate in the second week of September and then will forward your case papers to the consulate"

He didn't want to be disturbed while he was reading it and only after he finished reading it did he got back dialogue mode. Then I asked him if early October interview date is a possibility, to which he responded stating that it is very likely but NVC can not guarantee an early interview date. He also said that the status of my case will not change till the second week of September.

Then I mentioned that I know of a few people that got October interview, to which he replied stating that the process involving scheduling of interviews differe from consulate to consulate. So I guess this is it for all consulates in India.

my case was closed the 9th of August but no interview date yet. I have been calling every day and NVC keeps telling me that September was filled out and they will try to schedule an interview for October. they say to call them the second week of September because thats when they schedule interview dates for October. It's a very stressful situation.
