Case Complete to Interview Date Communication

I think the best answer is that it depends on your embassy. It can take a day or 90 + days. It is the toughest wait I have ever experienced because the NVC keeps you in the dark with no hint of when the date could be. They all say the same thing either they are all really well trained to keep their process a secret or they truly do not know which is odd. Any how Just keep holding on your day will come. All of our other Journey members here who have made it through are proof!!

Depending on the influx and schedules of immigrant visas in a particular country it will take a quick time or a much longer time to process.

I have come to the conclusion that PATIENCE is the key. To just wait when it comes to immigration except with the mighty hand of God.

Just found out today our NVC case is complete with SIF on NVC portal. In speaking with NVC, she indicated no interviews open till October (September is booked). Haven't checked email as of yet.

I remember a comedy skit where the martial arts teacher said that to one of the students while they were trying to meditate "You need to learn patience" - "Yeah! Patience! How long will that take?"

I still do not have a clear sense of when to expect to be given a date.. Is it really the second week of September that they fill out the Calendar for October or is that just when they mail them out or is it just another one of the "6 to 8 week" lines we hear for every other step? Do they decide earlier and DAS is aware so calling them lets you know when they have scheduled your appointment?

There are people who knew in one day and people who took a month which I guess makes sense if they push it out the same day each month.. But if they did just push it out once a month You think there would be a monthly "party" on here waiting for that monthly scheduling appointment. - I don't see anything definitive.. Or is it just totally different based on consulate location?

Hey Guys two of my cases were complete last week and still no e-mail from NVC. I am inline for interview for my grandmother and my wife, you guys think I will have any change for September, I have been call NVC, but I see alot of you are also calling DOS, but if we get the same answer as NVC, I don't see the point of calling DOS.

Delhi Consulate may be different - Call NVC and find out. Singisking is also looking at Delhi dates.

I called yesterday and same reply like u guys got that we are booked for Sep,you just missed it by couple of days... call 2nd week of Sep for Oct scheduling...

I guess that's their standard response to everyone no matter which consulate u belong to...

The major factors that control when one gets an interview date/ email, I think are - i) the time one gets ones case closed ii) how busy the consulate is, & iii) the time when the consulate next month interview dates get full.

I only hope that the guys going to one consulate (ex Mumbai) get interview dates in the order of their dates of case completion - But I noticed that it didn't happen in the past. Hope it will this time - that way I can get an early October interview.

Yes, I got the same response. Since the Indian consulates have closed their September interview dates and will take a week gap before thye start the next month, I think we will get interview emails in 7 - 10 days time - may be I am wishing.

Alright, I ran some more numbers for NVC Complete to interview date. Mumbai/Bombay is around 50-55 days. Chennai/Madras is around 50-52 days and New Delhi is around 49-52 days.... pretty much all are the same.

I also looked at each kind of visa that is going on throughout the months. Spouse, Fiancee, Work visa's out more than Family and student visas it seems.

It's also quite amazing at some of those case dates for the family visa's. I saw case numbers as far back as 1997.

Thats correct. From the day that you find out your case is closed.

I would imagine that you would find out a month or so before hand. So, I would expect to find out in 20 days or less....this is including weekends.

You are right - I am still obsessed with September - have to move on to October. I tried calling DOS but the wait time is 15 minutes - can't wait at office. Which is the best time/ what time can be contacted/ .....! Appreciate details.

By the way, NVC says that they can't give the October date till 2 nd week of September - I don't think it is right, as I have run the timeline reports and saw September interview dates much before August first week. Any thoughts!

Hey Guys, someone had a question on whether we can take a print out of the interview letter received in email or do we need to take the actual letter mailed for medical/interview. Any thoughts on that!

I do not think they mail an official letter (Official Letterhead) to the beneficiary. They send everything via e-mail if you have an e-mail address listed with NVC.
