Case Complete to Interview Date Communication

Congrats everyone! My husband informed me that my IV fee check was posted off yesterday, so it should have arrived today. With the medical done, the only RFE sorted (unless we get strike 3!) and all my large expenditures and time constraints sorted, it's now the time to do some relaxing before the interview and relocating!

Dev, we received the interview email yesterday night (of course the AVR has not yet been updated). The first para states that they have forwarded the case to the Chennai Consulate. Is it the standard text - please check yours and let me know (you mentioned that they didn't forward yours yet to Mumbai).

Also in page 4, they mentioned F for the "Indian Police Certificate", meaning that the Local PCCs are not required by NVC (F - "This form is not necessary for this application"). I am not sure if this applies to K visa but I think the CR1 visas don't need local PCC (they marked the Kuwait PCC and Passport PCC with O - meaning Original submitted).

We have nothing to submit to VFS, so we may plan to take the medical report with passport (copy), passport photos (actiully doesn't look like required), Interview letter (copy) to interview and then will go to VFS to pay the courier fee after interview. This part differes from Consulate to consulate - Chennai is alright with this (I know Delhi isn't).

By any chance are you from Hyderbad? Actually my spouse is from Hyderabad. She thought she needs to submit medical test results with sealed envelope at VFS office in Hyderabad, India and also pay the courier fee for the Visa. Is that right? Or else she needs to go to VFS office after the interview at chennai embassy to pay the courier fee?

Please advice us!

Yes, we are from Hyderabad but originally from Bhimavaram. Wife is planning to go to Hyderabad on 10/1 for medical. She plans to submit the required documents and medical at VFS, Hyderabad - it is permissable. See the two replies I got from VFS, Chennai below:

Second Reply from VFS

"Kindly note that you are advisable to carry the medical documents at the time of the submission of the courier fees along with relevant documents.Further, if incase you are not able to produce the medical documents on time then you may carry the medical documents at the time of the US visa interview."

First reply from VFS:

"This is to inform you that you visa application centre along with the Original Passports & interview appointment letter. Documents will be accepted at any nearest VFS centers ( located in southern region) until 10 working days prior to the date of interview. Applicant must submit all the documents to VFS as specified in the “Appointment package” or “Packet 4” (those which pertain to your case) on any working day between 8am to 1pm & 2pm-3pm (Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the U.S. Consulate, Chennai).

Further, you need to submit the courier fee payment (Rs.387/-) with the below mentioned documents:

· You need to carry your original passport and submit only the photocopies of passport ( first and last pages)

· You need to carry your original Interview appointment Letter and submit only the photocopy of the interview appointment letter.

· 3 Photographs (as per visa specification)

· other relevant documents mentioned in your packet 4 (If required)"

All NVC has dispatched all the cases that have been scheduled with interview dates on September 15th (DHL by reference - EXP 14 SEP 2011A). And they are in transit at Cincinnati HUB, OH as on 9/16/2011 at 2:07 AM. Should reach the respective Consulates by Monday (9/19/2011), due to week end.
