I just spoke with Department of State follwed by NVC and still no luck. Not sure why there is so much delay scheduling interview.

One of my friends though he is not a member of Visa Journey got his interview date with Chennai Embassy on Nov15. His case got completed on August 26th.

One thing I noticed is that case complete dates and interview dates do not always go in the same order - sometimes those are jumbled and there is logic or reason for that.

But the interview dates are given out based on the CC date order - so expect yours in a day or two. I don't see much Chennai guys in the forum - probably there are lot out there and hence we are looking at November - I still want to keep my October hope.

appears like Chennai is quite busy, they don't even have the Sept interview schedule posted to their site yet although we are well marching past September. Looks like they are very busy.

you might get lucky if you can get in November, looks like the Chennai consulate is very busy lately with the USCIS approving the petitions faster than usual lately. Chennai consulate does not even have a list of Sept interviews yet. Strange.

Hi Navywk,

Everyday I am checking atleast 2 times(mid morning and after 9PM) with NVC operators about interview date. As soon as I hear something, I will post it on the board. So that way it will be helpful for others in the board as well who is eagerly waiting to hear interview dates with Chennai Embassy in the month of November. It is due to bizzare process at NVC(case re-opened for no reason) that my case got a second closing date on 08/30.

Not sure if NVC can bump you up the queue and assign a earlier date but be nice to the operator, explain how much you are missing your wife, and request request and more request to see if they can push you up the queue. not likely but you can ask and try.

Thanks Raj1975 for your good wishes. I see that your wait is around 70 days from CC to Interview (7/18 to 9/28) - looks like Chennai have been busy.

NVC assigns the intial interview. After that you have to deal with the consulate if you are wanting to try to get an earlier interview date.

We are waiting for the NVC interview email, so that wife can quickly get the medical done, submit the VFS requirements and be ready for any available slots, before seeking prephonement of interview date.

Just called again NVC to find out if there is an interview scheduled. As expected I heard routine dialougue, " We schedule interviews 2nd week of each month e.t.c" I hope to hear the interview date atleast so that give me a relief and I can plan other things.

Thank you Navyk for your support. To be honest I wish you to have a schedule in October itself because you really deserved it. It was just because of bizzare process of NVC, your case got delayed. Otherwise your case should have been completed by Aug15th itself. From my end, I will keep you posted for any updates that I hear from NVC.

I hope everyone gets their interview dates this week. Do you think they are based mostly on embassy ??

I see 2 month wait for some and one month for others. 1.5 would work great for us

I just called again NVC to find out about my interview scheduling. Still no updates. It is a bit disappointing to wait longer than expected but things are not in my control though. Hopefully I can hear from them by tomorrow as the latest.
