NVC's computers are down

I called DOS and she told me it was Nov. 10th.

Congratulations Dave & Kinnari. Nov 10th is not too bad at all. Good luck with your medical test! When i started posting on VJ, you and navyk were along with me. Now if only NavyK gets one too, i can be at peace!

And just a wondering. I've heard from soooooo many people, on the forum and friends too, who are getting RFE's for passport pcc. Are people not aware that pcc is a must. Why aren't they sending it right away! I had sent my PCC from passport office as well as from the commissioner office with my immi package. Thankfully i had no issues. For all of those still in the beginning process, get your pcc's ready before hand. And for those of you from hyderabad, the passport office has really changed their system for the better. They are issuing the pcc on the same day of submission. Just 2 months ago it took me 12 days to get it. So people don't be lazy or careless. Get it done before they ask for it. A friend of mine, god knows how, but totally neglected to take the passport pcc to her interview. They did not reject her visa but put it on hold and asked her to get the pcc and courier it to chennai via the VFS at hyderabad. Poor thing didn't get her visa on the interview day. Must be so dissappointing..

My wife got her PCC once we recieved a checklist letter from nvc. And sent it in as soon as she got it. I know we didnt need to send it in but we did for a peace of mind for the both of us.

We've already been screwed by the nvc once. Didnt wanna take any chances 2nd time around.

Just got off the phone with the NVC and found out that our interview date is October 24th. I'm wondering what is going on with these all of a sudden later than usual interview dates and bummed that we are all getting stuck in them. I'm happy to finally have a date but a bit sad that it's not sooner. Congrats to all of you who got your interview dates today!

Just got email confirmation. And yes its 11/21 was hoping they made a mistake and it was actually 10/21 the day of my wifeys bday. Lol.

NVC received your file in 2009 and you got interview in 2011..why such a long delay????

I would to know the time it took for you guys to get Interview email after your case is completed at NVC. Thanks for your contributions.

We had our interview date in one week after case complete

The NVC is really getting those interview emails out today. When I spoke with a person this afternoon I asked if I would be getting an email in a few days. He said he doubted it would be that soon so I rephrased and said "ok, I assume I'll be getting an email eventually" and he was able to agree to that without hesitation. lol A few hours later I received the email notification of the interview date.

08/27/2011- Wife Sent PCC from India(In fact she did get PCC on end of 27th from passport office in India and she mailed PCC following day upon getting RFE from NVC. Otherwise we thought of submitting during interview)

08/30/2011 - Case Closed(Thank God)

Now Waiting for interview. FOlks, is anyone's CR-1 interview got scheduled in Chennai Embassy?

I hope NavyK gets his interview soon as well.

Mumbai consulate is the only consulate that I am 100% SURE you can submit DS-230 packet WITHOUT Passport Clearance Cert. All others I am not sure of.

What do you need to do to get an earlier date? I would like to try also.

Write a good letter to the embassy asking for an earlier date.

Is anyone CR1 interview got scheduled in Chennai Embassy in end of October or early November? My case got completed on August 30th. Any idea if my spouse interview can be scheduled towards the end of October or 1st week of November?
