My CC on August 9th, 2011, I called NVC today and I was told we didn't get in the September slots for Mumbai consulate. :( I was so excited this whole week, hoping we did, but due to Mumbai's immigration rush, they weren't able to.

Anyway, NVC also said they schedule during the whole month regularly for MUMBAI, not specially in the mid month so you can call once a week or wait for an email from NVC to find out your interview date. Good luck to all of you waiting like me.

Sorry to hear that. I wish you a very early October Interview.

I have been "hearing" from family and friends (not sure if it's speculation) but a lot of family based visa's are really slowing down in India. I am not sure why, but it has been the case with a few personal family members and friends I know of back home. Spouse visa's are always available, so I am hoping that they are allowing more spouse visa's to come thru since the so called "delay" of family visa's is in effect supposedly.

I am hoping for a early to mid October interview if I get a late August case closed from NVC.

OnMyWayID- congrats on the completion. I called in the AM and at night because I was told the same yesterday that they were still working on sept until the end of the week.

sizzle- do you know if this is for every consulate the continuous scheduling? The operator told me to call back next month....around the second week.

p.s. i don't mind beginning of october as well i just want to know because a month ago i purchased a flight in two weeks to see my husband for vacation and flight prices keep going up and up....

Krubia..I dont know about all the consulate..but it doesn't hurt to call NVC once or twice a week to ask your case status update or if you got in the OCt scheduling. I would do that, you get different operators all the time so you don't have to worry about them being annoyed. Lol Good luck to you.

You can also call DOS to inquire about your interview status as well.

I was wondering is DOS different than NVC or how fast they update? At NVC my case is completed since AUg 9th 2011, when I called DOS, it said my case is on administrative pending(sounds scary, lol). Anyway I am thinking its an RFE for my I-864 that requires additional documents and my hubby is suppose to turn those in during the interview now since NVC completed the case.

Sorry guys - I wish you all an early October Interview. I was very busy the last two days and didn't call NVC - will call now and see what the Lord has for us.

Just called and was told that September is full for Chennai consulate too (she said that the interview slots provided by Chennai for September have all been filled on basis of the case completion dates - at least here they are following FIFO) and will have to wait till September 2nd week for the October Interview dates. Most of us are all in the same boat - let's hope for early October Interview dates.

Looks like Dave is right. The August 1st Case completed guy got September 29 with Chennai Consulate.

It took me 3 weeks to get an interview date after our case was complete. KRubia, I called the DOS and specifically asked if DR was backed up with scheduling appointments and I was told yes. I'm not sure if that's still the case (or ever was), but I did notice that some people whose cases were complete a month or two before mine got interview dates a month after their case was complete. My interview date is 2 months after, so maybe they have slowed down some.

Good luck to everyone!!

More details:

It has been morethan 20 business days and not yet SIF. What does this mean? PLEASE TELL ME IM DESPERATTE ALREADY and i am having thoughts of giving up. Eachtime i email the NVC i always get a response that they dont have it yet.

I knew it was closed before it was in the NVC computer since I saw it on the DHL website the day the packet was shipped, and then less than 24 hours later it was delivered to the consulate, and when I was talking to the NVC rep, she said she had nothing in her computer, but while we were talking, it showed up as shipped, case closed, and interview already scheduled, and she said an email would be on its way the same day--she was correct.
