Hello everyone,

I recently received a letter stating that my joint sponsor's income did not meet 125% of the federal poverty line for the joint sponsor household size. I am kind of confused as I thought my joint sponsor would meet the requirement. Here are some extra information;

-My joint sponsor lives in another state and there are 3 people living at her house

-My joint sponsor owns her own business and makes over 40K

-There are two people living in my household (my wife and I)

My question is how much does my joint sponsor need in asset before she can sponsor me?

My wife lost her job in the beginning of May and made (according to her tax papers) $7000 a year. Does her income still count or not?

Another question, is the government charging my joint sponsor for 2 household members (my wife and I) or 5 household members (her family, my wife and I) ?

Thank you
