my fiancee just get her packet 3 from the guangzhou embassy in china. what are in those packets? i was very surprised at the amount of papers in her packet. there were only 2 forms!!! i know i need to fill out an I-134 or now it is an 816 or something. the affidavit of support? well, here is everything that she got...

OF-169 (i think she got two of these, one in chinese)

DS-230 part 1

all she said she had to do was return these two things and then they would give her further instructions. but on her OF-169, it has a checklist of things. i thought that this checklist is just for personal use, but she says there is something else about this. something about some translations and if she checks something...oh i really don't know. any help is greatly appreciated from other guangzhou fiancees or anybody who knows specifically about guangzhou's business

well, that's all good in theory, and i will keep that page bookmarked it seems useful, but we all know what we read and what we are told by these people that work at these service centers and consulates is often far from correct and legitimate.

i'm more interested in first-hand experiences than any help from the consulate themselves. if you have recently received the packet 3 from guangzhou, i'd like to hear from you.
