Up to you and your spouse to decide. Your wife can adjust status in the US from the K-3, in which NVC will need to be notified of such so that the I-130 will be returned to USCIS. Or you can continue with the NVC process and your wife can return to the consulate for the CR-1 interview. Both are for the same purpose.....to gain immigrant status. You may like to look into how long the AOS process will take at your District Office as some can take years. Many return for the CR-1 as it can be a lot quicker. All depends on finances too, as the return trip can add quite a bit to the process. You should also consider how long it is going take to be scheduled for a CR-1 interview, on top of the approx. 3 months to complete the NVC stage.

All the best for the interview.

thanks for the reply

i am a little confused

since K3 interview is end of this month, so my wife can come here immediately

now if we continue process for I130, then if interview happens in india, it cost a lot to pay for the ticket to go back there from usa

instead if we do AOS, from here, does it really take a few years?

i thought it took a few months

and we do AOS, what exactly do I need to do?

thanks for the help again

I am in the same situation, as evident from my signature. So if I have already decided to go with AOS, do I still need to complete NVC processing? I am mean sending DS3032, AOS fee bill, IV bill, DS230?

NO.

NVC=National VISA Center. Dealing with them further will lead to an immigrant visa (CR-1). If you absolutely intend to do AOS in the States, notify the NVC of your plan.

Yes, plane tickets cost, but there are side benefits to the trip. And, AOS etc is not free.

You can monitor how long AOS takes where *you* live by watching your District Office's I-485 processing dates and watching other VJ members who use your DO (most accurate of an inaccurate guesstimate).

AOS can take 3 months to 3 years (or more) to get to an interview. Name checks and other problems can lengthen the process considerably.
