Does it matter how old the birth certificate is?

I see in packet 3 that it says you need a:

Certified copy in the new style issued by the RGD on security paper for you and accompanying children..

My fiance doesn't have that he just has the one from when he was born in 1986...

Will that be fine?

How did he even get his JA passport with the old BC. They have been requiring the new BC since 2007.

The US embassy isn't making anything hard, it's those who were falsifying the JA BC that have made it hard.

He used what ever BC he has currently.. he's at work now so i'll ask him when he calls me on break when he got it..

hmmm... my husband got his passport in 2009 with the old style birth certificate :unsure:

He did not get the new blue birth certificate until this year.

Yes Lexi have him get on it, did you guys get the non-impediment form from RGD already?

Hey JAP -- I was about to type the same thing. Few of my husband's friend as well as my family members up to January of this year got their passport with the old style BC -- sorry Lexi, but he'll need the new birthcertificate...ask if they can process it quickly for a fee.

Well, I just spoke to my MIL and she stated that in-order for her and my BIL to be able to attain their passpost this year, they had to get the new style BC. Also, when my husband obtained his in 2007, the same was stated to him and he obtained the new style BC. Hey maybe this only applies to those in Kingston, we are talking abouty Jamaica, right.
