Should I format a rfe cover letter a certain way? There is a I-129F example form here can I use it? Should I add more to it? My case number or what? Thanks in advance.

The only RFE I ever received said "make sure and include a copy of this letter" with the return. The first page in my response was a copy of the RFE letter.

If you're writing a separate letter, then yes, you need the reference number/s from the RFE somewhere in the letter. If you have an A-number or an N-number, remember to include that. If you have a receipt number (something like XXX0000000000), I'd include that too.

Aside from that, you'd need to tell us what the RFE was for.
