I've searched about this topic and the answers either don't fit my case or aren't clear.

The situation:

Married a resident of Kyrgyzstan and she already had a 5 year old daughter from a previous marriage. Filed all paperwork for both of them to immigrate. Process is nearly done, medical interview is next week and the immigration interview with the consulate is in a few weeks. Biological father is fine with his daughter immigrating.

The problem:

I'm thinking now that I need to have the biological father make some type of papers and get them certified in some manner stating his daughter can leave the country. (I'm thinking this is a problem because of international kidnapping cases.) Is there a proper form or format of this type of paper or are there some clear and concise instructions for this type of thing? Don't want to go to an interview unprepared, it's really expensive to get them to the interview location as it is.

Thank you in advance!

Great question. This could have been a serious problem.

Best to check directly with the embassy. Ask if they have a sample format to give you. Ask if it must be submitted in both languages. This is the case with the embassy I am familier with.

Thank you for the advice. Called the embassy and they wanted a basic letter from the biological father is all, nothing fancy. They said either language would be fine but I'm going the extra mile and doing both because going back is not in the cards if I can help it. Rather be more prepared than less prepared. If I have any problems at the interview with this issue I will post more information.

Much appreciated!

Sounds like you've got things under control but why are you posting in the K3 forum. Sounds like it will be CR1 and CR2 visas they interview for.
