Wow, Wow, Wow,

I would never had guessed this post would have recieved so many replys. I thank you all for taking your time to respond and hope this helps others prepare for their journy. I guess no two are the same. I would like to point out that I am 100% in protecting the rights of the child. So I have no problem on getting any additional paperwork required. Just thought it was strange this was not outlined in their requirements.

So just an update. The Embassy should be getting a copy of the fathers Cenomar today. The Embassy even called to make sure it was coming and asked when they would recieve it. The father has been very supportive in getting any documents needed.

About showing support we copied both the Westerns Union receipts for the interview and medical fees. We also sent them copies of two PayPal receipts when I did send her money. They also requested her passport as well so I hope that is a good sign.

I will post again when we find out the decision.

Thanks again everyone!!!

I was not supported by my fiance when i was in the Philippines. To be blunt, i find it insulting for a guy who is not my husband to support me or my family.

My experience, the first interviewer who was a filipino was the one who insisted that i should show my remittances to her. When i told her that i dont have any, she insisted on it. The interviewer received several Nos from me. On my last No, i knew she could hear from my voice and see from my face that i'm already irritated. It was then she said that remittances is a common thing in american-filipina relationship. Guess, there are only few of us filipinas who does not accept support from the USC during the courtship period.

For the second interview, the CO was a white american woman. It was an easy inteview and i got approved immediately. She did not even bother to ask for remittances. I used to work from a fortune 200 company and the CO knew that i am financially stable.

If your fiancee does not have any remittances then she should insist that she has none. IF they really asked for it, then let her show her philippines annual income to prove that she is financially stable.

Three paragraphs about you and how you are insulted if a guy supports you when he is not your husband; two sentences about helping the OP.

I see you are very proud and "only few of us filipinas who does not accept support from the USC during the courtship period. ":wow:

Can you be a little more bostos?

To the OP. It is not uncommon to ask for support documentation. Like the other posters have said, the CENOMAR for the biological father is kind of strange. I think this interviewer is off base. To me it seems he is stuck on the normal questions, not a case-by-case interview.

Just a bit of follow up so it's clear. But as with anything on VJ if it's important ask your local authority. After researching it seems it's not a US law that is followed. The US ( and all countries follow whatever custody law is from the originating country "It's a violation of the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction to allow a child to be removed from it's country of residence without the permission of both parents, unless one or both parents are dead or their parental rights have been revoked ->according to the laws of the country where the child resides<-". In my case an anullment that places care with the mother is the equivalent of revocation. they dont have divorce they have anullment which is like the marriage never happened and in that country a child out of wedlock puts the custody with the mother.
