After reading and reading and reading the instructions on the USCIS site, I called this morning for assistance.

I was able to get right to a person after taking advice from a thread and calling very early.

I started off asking my questions about the G-325a.

My fiancee does not have a middle name, what should I put in this box.

She stated that absolutely no box can be left blank on the forms. She said you must put N/A for the box.

For the line for former husband, first name, dob, city and country of birth, date of marriage, and place of marriage.

She said that every box must be filled out. So I put none for current husband and N/a for everything else on the line.

Then I asked about the I-129F part A question 10. SHe said that she could not legally answer a question dealing with the I-129F. SHe told me to get a laywer for this form. I am not joking! That is what she said.

My question to you is should I call back and try for another person or ask for an immigration officer? Or what? How can we get help for the form?

Thanks....

She is following her orders. Why not ask your questions here? The answers she gave you are covered here in the guides and have been restated 14,378,256 times in the forums.

when I went to my AOS biometrics, I got scolded by the lady in charge of collecting the forms, because I put N/A or None. She erased everything and said that I had to leave it blank, if not applicable. go figure.

Another newbie, another same old question. This will continue to happen because many people don't bother to read the guides or review the example forms. But perhaps this frequency can be reduced. The example forms and (VJ) instructions for completing them should be revised. I remember reading the guides and looking at the example forms for weeks and still had questions. Yes, the same old questions will continue to be asked, but but at a reduced rate and with fewer follow up questions.

Perhaps that is why we never bothered to read the guides, and used the most current information available from the USCIS and appropriate embassy/consulate websites, throughout our journey. VJ has it's purpose, but supplying the most current information is not one of them, except anecdotally.

Someone (or a group of someones) ought to caucus amongst themselves (or talk to himself) and come up with a list of items that need to be clarified, then present the list to Admiral Ewok in the "Site Discussion" forum, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I did offer a solution a while back to replace the guides with a link list, but that got shot down without discussion. For instance, I don't know how many times I give out the same link to the USEM website for K-1 filers in the Philippines, or the link for getting your IRS Transcripts sent to you free online.

So if the fiance has no middle name should we put NONE or N/A? I just want to make sure because I don't want to get an RFE for putting the wrong one. That would be frustrating.

You can leave it blank, or put (none). You won't get an RFE as long as your intent is clear, and there is sufficient information to process the application. Instructions generally say not to leave any questions unanswered, so use N/A where the question is "not applicable", and (none) where the reasonable answer to the question is "none."

My preference for no middle name is to enter ----. It works every time it's tried. As for calling USCIS, simply don't do it for guidance in filing. We don't call it the misinformation line for nothing. Ask your questions here.

Time to float the idea again, si man. First, perhaps do a search of your own messages and count the number of times that you gave out those links. Use that as ammunition.

Being middle-nameless, I do this all the time, and it indeed works every time. Edited by TBoneTX

are you really from "er Vaticano"?

if you put "none", just make sure that your visa or green card does not state that your middle name is "none". that would suck.

I like this idea the best I am going to use it..

G-325a.

For the line for former husband, first name, dob, city and country of birth, date of marriage, and place of marriage.

She said that every box must be filled out. So I put "none" for current husband and N/a for everything else on the line.

Would this be the best way to answer? Or is a none in the first box and everything else blank ok?
