Hi Everyone! Ive read through most of the topics and they were very helpful, I still need some more information, so if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated!

My husband is a US citizen, we were married in my home town of Adelaide (Australia) on May 14th, 2011 - we filed the I-130 on June 17th 2011 via our lawyer in the US ( I am still in Australia). We received notice that the petition was approved on August 3rd - less than 7 weeks! It got approved the same day as the I-129 we filed as well, so my understanding is that now, the I-129 is muted?

My question is what happens next? Our lawyer, whilst great, isnt really good at explaining things to us - My understanding is that the case gets sent to the NVC -

Does the NVC send me paperwork to fill out?

Do I then send it back to NVC and if it is all good and correct they send me a letter/email with a consulate interview date?

Any help you have, would be gratefully appreciated! Ive read a lot of stories on here and it saddens me that we are all so far away from those we love - good luck to everyone reading this!

First of all, congratulations on the wedding. Secondly, let's see if I have this straight, an I-129F was filed but you received an NOA2 for the I-130 the same day the I-129F was filed? If you have the NOA2 for the I-130, the I-129F is now moot.

The file will be sent to the NVC and it will be assigned a case number. Since you have a lawyer, they lawyer will automatically be designated as the agent to receive correspondence, so you will not need to complete the DS-3032.

You don't need to wait to receive anything, you can fill out the DS-230 and gather your documents. Your husband will need to fill out the I-864 and prepare accompanying documents for the affidavit of support package.
