Maybe this topic was covered before but I could not find the answer

We were approved on July 29 and received NOA2 hard copy on August 5. NVC received our file on August 1st but no case number yet. Every time I call, NVC tells me a different timeline to enter the case in their system. One time I was even told that whoever told me the date my case was received by NVC was not suppose to.

I will be traveling at the end of this month to visit my darling and will be away for 1 month. If our case # is generated right around the end of the month I will not have enough time to wait for both packages to generate the fee and show paid.

I was wondering if I could send both AOS I-864 and DS-230 simultaneously under one bar code once the AOS I-864 shows paid?

I can pay the other bill online while I am overseas.

IS this something that can be done?

Anyone’s help is greatly appreciated

Anyone????????????????

Yes, you can send both packets together using one bar code, provided you paid both the payments. At least pay the second within 5 days of sending the packets (5 days is average time taken to start processing the documents) but this is subject to the receipt and acceptance of the DS-3032. Of course, the worst case is that they will issue a RFE for not receiving payment.

I would take the risk of sending AOS after paying IV fee (it actually happened in my case but I didn't send the AOS packet with IV packet and by the time I operator told me to use Cover page of IV to send AOS, I got the AOS fee status resolved) but the other way I think is a little risky, as those contain originals. If you are having two sets of originals or certified copies, then go for it.

We are not able to advise you firmly, as none of us did this. I hope someone did send and share his/ her experience.

Thank you for your reply

As you said, sending the documents is my concern as well

The DS-230 package contains the police certificates we have just one set of originals and one photocopy for those. I don’t want them to get lost and we end up delaying the processing for another month until i come back with e new set

But if i were to submit the package when i come back then we will end up delaying the process by another month anyway and end up getting a new set of police certificates because Albanian ones expire in 3 months. We got them about a month ago

I would like to know if anyone submitted the documents under one bar code successfully

It is more time efficient to send separate packages to the slightly different addresses. In reality, the two packages go to different departments and are handled by separate sections of NVC. You CAN send them together but then you are at the mercy of one department transferring what they don't deal with, to the department that does. I would send separate packages, even if sending the same day. Use the correct cover sheet for each package.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Bar code sheet for AOS/I-864EZ and DS230 have the exact same NVC case number. However, the verbiage on each cover sheet is DIFFERENT to include the ATTN line of address.

I sent mine in the same Fedex package but 2 separate folders with the appropriate cover sheet for I-864EZ (AOS) and DS230. From my understanding, different departments process each document. And from what I hear, sending the correct bar code sheets still generate false RFE's.
