I'm very confused about the police certificate requirements. I know that my fiance doesn't have to submit this until later but I'm preparing now.

I'm getting mixed answers about this. In the past 5 years, my fiance has lived and worked in 3 other countries (Thailand, U.S. and U.K.) besides his home country India.

He already went to get a police certificate from his local police station in India. I was told by some that this is enough, that the police station will take care of the rest, and that he doesn't have to request certificates from each country.

He said they took his passport and scanned it. I was under the impression that they did pull up all his information from every where he has resided.

But from some I've heard that he does have to request police certificates from each country he has ever worked in.

So which is it??? We really don't want to end up in AR hell for something that could have been avoided.

As far as I know, he will need a PCC from Thailand and UK as well.

I know a few people had to get it from Brussels or Dubai where they were working.

The obvious place to start would be the British and Thai Embassy.

As you know, no PCC is required for US.

Yes, he will need one for the UK and one for Thailand. The police certificate for Thailand took me nearly 6 weeks to receive it from the time I mailed my request (granted there was a postal strike in Canada at the time).

Do you know how long the police record for Thailand is valid for?

We haven't submitted our I-129F yet, should he wait to do it until we're closer to the interview?

Isn't it only if you have lived in that country for 6 months or more?

He had lived in both the U.K. and Thailand for more than 6 months.
