Hello Everyone,

My interview was on 22nd May 2011, Interview went well and I have been put on AP as I would say mandatory AP for males. At the time of interview CO said everything is fine and they don’t need anything and she kept my passport and issued me a green slip that my visa is temporarily refused under INA section 221g. It’s also saying we are unable to give you specific time when it will end, but average time is in month and can take many more months, in short I haven’t heard anything from them, day before yesterday I called consulate to change US address, and I asked to lady any update on my case, she said your case is in normal processing and there is no red flag or document requirement on your case, we will call you as soon as soon processing will be over and you will get your Visa. My question is since they have kept my passport any idea how long we have to endure this pain of AP, its 83rd day since I am on AP.

Please keep us in your prayers Regards.

We're in the same situation just from june 15th instead of may. From everything I've read and researched it all depends upon the type of name checks and hits or no hits the beneficiary name has received. The average time of ap for ISL is anywhere between 3 months to about 6 months and sometimes longer. There is no way to know how long it will take until you receive the call to pick up your visa.. wish I had answers for you.... we don't have them either. Hang in there Inshallah it will have an end soon.

I have read and searched on Google name check can be cleared within 48 to 72 hours and if possible hit which i imagine there must be as hassan comes in my name, so it could take upto 30 to 120 days, i don't understand that why that long, also please tell me something that Green slip i received at the time of interview CO mentioned the date on it 18th March instead of 18th May, on 18th March my case was completed at NVC end, do you have same thing

We did get a 221g slip as well but it was dated the date of the interview....either your CO made a mistake on yours or maybe if it's handwritten it just looks like march?

I know i've also read that the first set of FBI clears within one week and the other within two weeks. It takes some time to set the name up into the system and then to obtain the results. If there is a hit that also means they have to manually check each name etc...which adds more time.... Then if the CO has added extra checks that will be more wait time. There is no real good answer for this... I also see other Males from pakistan get their visas within a few weeks from interview and then like us...we sit and wait .... just have faith... i know believe me it's soo hard... Our second anniversary is coming up in October and at this point IDK whether we will have a romantic dinner at an indian restaurant or if it will be talking online yet again... :(

Inshallah we will see the end of this soon.
