validity of AOS fees

Dear friends,

I received the first letter for appoinment of agent in Sept 2010 and i have send the form also. I also paid the AOS fees in Dec 2010 after which i got an email for paying the visa fees and filing the necessary forms. Mine is in the F4 category. Can anybody tell me what is the validity for the AOS fees that is paid and also whether all the documentation has to be finished within a year of receving the first letter from NVC. Thank you in advance and hope to get a reply at the earliest.
