Ok, you married him after meeting him only once for 2 months, and it seems he was insecure at the interview. I think you can appeal but you two will need more proof of your marriage being an honest one and not a fraud.

Hmmm, I smell a troll, or at least some deception.

I was thinking the same when I made the first reply post, but decided to be polite and request more information. I wonder why they don't tell us the whole story?

OP,

With all due respect, is your 1st ex-husband deceased?

Based upon the information you supplied, it appears that you were only divorced.

Yet, your current husband, during the interview, inferred that the ex-husband is deceased.

That is a big red flag to a Consular Officer.

Can you clarify?

Further to that.

If your Husband does not know the pertinent facts of your life, with particular emphasis on previous marriages, this will cause deep concern in the mind of a Consular Officer.

Sorry for sounding critical, but I highly doubt that he was given this kind of interrogative interview unless there was some factor that directly lead to the visa agent suspecting fraud.

I agree with William33 that there could have been something regarding your previous marriages. Are you sure that you supplied accurate information about your past marriages?

Are you sure that you supplied all neccesary proof of relationship evidence during the interview?

Again, sorry for sounding critical, but I personally believe that this scenario would not happen without just cause.

no problem  i was married twice. my first husband i was married to for 16 years and we divorced and he is now deceased, i am also divorced from my second husband, he is still living. Now this is my 3rd marriage.

He told them at the interview correctly. he was only saying to them that he did not have divorce papers for my 1st divorce, he told them the only thing he had was a paper from the funeral. i must not have written it clearly. (i may still have it messed up)

its ok, i can and will take any criticism. i was not there so i can only accept what he has told me.

i am hoping that when the nvc gets the papers back and sends me a letter i will understand the real reason

Thanks for clearing that up.

With that said, I must defer to board seniors, as my knowledge of your next course of action is limited.

In any case, I hope it works out for you!!

I am so sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope there are cleared up quickly and the letter gives you some way to simply clear up any confusions and you override the decision.

I know Pakistan must be a difficult consulate to go through. I lived there several years back.

The consulate can only make a decision based on the evidence presented to them. Maybe there was something in your evidence that raised some flags- first divorce coming before the death and no divorce papers? I am just speculating. Better for you to wait for the official notice and see exactly what they say. I expect these inteviews can be intimidating for the foreign spouce. I know my fiance is very nervous- liek he is on trial or something. It could be as simple as some misunderstandings in the interview?

anyway i think I can speak for everyone here at Vj and say we wish you a quick resolution and are reunited soon. (F)

The fact that the first husband passed away after a divorce is irrelevant. If it was a divorce, she will need the divorce papers period. If you dont have them, they are available thru the court where it was obtained. Who knows, she may have gotten re-married before he passed away.

Second, the age difference alone is enough to raise suspicions as it is a violation of the local norms and customs there, as the men there dont marry women 19 years older. Who knows what other cultural norms they violated??? they will look at differences in age, language, religion, race, etc. as the interview can be very subjective and the CO has to reach the point where he is convinced that it is a valid marriage. Probably the best way to overcome this would be to move there and live for 6-12 months and see what happens.

There is a paper floating around here from a lawyer where he discusses all of these points regarding violation of cultural norms........from Ellis Island I believe.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

True from my studies on the K1 Visa process before my filing I read in two different books and several sites that a large age difference is a big red flag.
