Hi VJers,

My 18 year old stepson arrived here on a K-2 visa (to follow). Will he likely be required to interview for his AOS or is this usually waived if his K-1 mom is already a green card holder? Can anybody out there, who's stepchild arrived later on a K-2, tell me whether an interview was requested for their stepchild. Thanks.

Mine was. He arrived before my wife received her green card but I do not think that matters. She had her interview and a few months later he had his. The interview was uneventful. Questions about belonging to any military organizations, are/will you be going to school/work, do you like it here, etc..He got his green card.
