I've got to admit that I can eat pretty cheaply. I made a meal today that used 30 cents of rice, 1.50 in veg. , 1.00 in eggs and 3 dollars in fish plus about 1.00 in curry paste and tomatoes. It turned out really good - 6.80 total for dinner for 2. so thats 3.40 per person in the east bay. My personal food budget per day is 16 USD for two people not including about 3 to 4 weekend meals.

We also tend to eat only one meal on sundays.

By the way I think here in the SF bay I could meet Paul's budget if pushed rice more into my diet and maybe had zero meat.
