My wife told me at the medical they said to her and wrote in the medical report that she should have all the required vaccinations. She has lived all her life in Poland and had whatever vaccinations all children get but does not have the book that lists them anymore. Will this be OK? Thanks.

Same exact case for us. She had lost/throw away vaccination card (she never dreamed she would be needing that). Anyhow, vaccinations are not required at this stage, but will be when AOS state side. It's a lot less expensive to do them there, we/she had them done at the time of the interview. Also, of all the vaccines required, only the age-appropriate will be re-done.

You can see what is age appropriate in the CDC web site. I have a pdf and can post it if you wish.

<edit>. I just realized you said 'wife', so if this is CR1, then yes (we were K-1). However, as above, I'd do them there, less expensive.

Good luck

I don't totally understand yes for CR1. Does it mean yes it is OK as it is? Or yes she will need them before interview? And if she needs vaccination, is it all on the list because she doesn't have the book or only ones which are not given in Poland

Do any of these embassy vaccinations require 2 or more doses? I work overseas frequently and some i received required a second shot.

So do you mean it is not good enough that Dr. that did the medical wrote she will have all vaccinations which all children get in Poland and she will need only some additional or she will need all vaccinations on the list?

Ok, sorry for the confusion.

Let's start with what is needed: all vaccinations as required by CDC; regardless of whether they had ever being applied in Poland. That said; not all vaccines apply to all ages (thus not all the ones listed), hence the age-appropriate. The CDC guidelines determine what is appropriate for which age. There are a few exceptions in case of pregnancy etc.

FYI, the CDC guidelines also note that in lieu of vaccinations/card, a titer blood test can be done (which detects the antibodies of the vaccines), though it takes time and from what my fiancee said, was not an option in Poland.

And yes, I believe they need to be done before interview as it is a requirement. The data sheet sent to your wife should note that actually, though I would agree that the wording is confusing.

In any case, there is a local Warszawa number you/she can call, the people answering are Polish and extremely helpful. This call is at no cost; make sure you call the correct number though, listed in the Embassy site for Warszawa under Contact, all the way to the bottom of page.

Yes; on CR1 means yes you must have them before coming over (as far as I understand), because vaccination is required for all immigrants and when she comes in, she will be given the GC, thus there is no other chance for the government to verify vaccines have been completed. In the case of a K1 (not your case I believe), it is not required, because there is still an adjustment of status and you would have to show proof.

Hope this clarifies things

I guess it might depend on doctor. I do know all vaccines are applied to children over there, but the doctor we had (in Poland) did not write anything like that and insisted. We did not have a vaccination card, lost/thrown away in a move. So she had to get the vaccines. Maybe it was just a way to get extra zlotys from us, but it was not that expensive; and she needed only a few.

Great if I could get that doc or a link I would appreciate it.

We sped through the shortcuts so fast she has not yet even received anything from the NVC yet and they will probably be scheduling the interview next week

Would the Dr. tell her all is OK and give her the envelope if she needed something more?

I went to the doctor yesterday in San Josè, Costa Rica. I did not have my vaccination card with me.

It is true that not all vaccines apply to all ages, that is what the doctor said. I am 33 and I got 3 vaccines: tetanus, varicella and measles. I paid $50 for the physical exam and $110 for the vaccines. He said everything was fine, he gave me the sealed envelope, and that was it.

The Dr will say if there is a problem.
