It says if you do not send what they are asking in that letter that you will be denied.

You have 87 days to respond with the correct documents listed.

I-864 completed and signed by the petitioner. They say that what you submitted was not from the petitioner.

Copys of the sponsors most recent fed tax returns

Joint sponsor I864 they need evidence that the joint- sponsor is a US citizen.

Everything they want is listed there in what you have. Send it back quickly.

Thanks for your response. This is where I am confused...I am the petitioner but I have not worked because I was studying at the University; therefore, no tax information.

We also sent copies of the sponsor's most recent tax refunds for the past two years which were professionally prepared by a CPA. The sponsor is not related to us, just a family friend...did we do something wrong by doing this? Our lawyer told us it could be anyone who met the qualifications. Furthermore, the sponsor is a citizen--he has a SSN, passport, etc.

Now what? Feeling a little confused still....

You are required as a petitioner to submit the 864 form REGARDLESS of not having tax returns. You would include a letter as to why you had not filed taxes.

They want the joint sponsors PROOF OF US CITIZENSHIP. They want to see his birth cert and passport. You did not include information and they are requesting it from you.
