Decent, mid-priced, hotel in Manila?

Hi folks,

Wife is headed to the US a week from today and she's gonna need to stay in Manila for 2 nights on her way here. I've been looking around for a decent, mid-priced hotel in Manila that takes online reservations, but there are a lot in that range and many are not too good. I tried to reserve a room at the Pearl Lane hotel, where we've stayed before, but they never responded to my online reservation form or an e-mail I sent...and I won't give business to any operation that treats potential customers that way.

So, I'm looking for a $40 to $50 a night hotel, maybe close to a mall in a relatively safe part of town, that you guys can recommend. Bonus points if it's closer to a CFO (wife needs to grab the stamp on the way out) or the Airport.

Maybe try the Sogo hotels, I think they run between 500 to 750 pesos per night. Not 100% sure though, but I think you can check online.

I have stayed at Prince Plaza II in Makati, it is OK & close to malls and embassy.

Most recently I have used Park, Bed & Breakfast, about 15 - 20 minutes from the airport but they will pick you up at the airport included in your rate.

Your best bet would be Tropicana Suites, Residence Hotel. it is an 8 Story Hotel like a timeshare.Rates are in your price range right around the corner from Robinsons mall ...40 to 50 USD a night. Pasay city, mabuhay manor. Beautiful hotel resort. Very close to the airport. I would not stay anywhere else. Very secure location and right next to the mall of Asia.

you can choose also manila airport hotel its really near in the international airport its just a walking distance near at mall of asia and sm sucat. and its near in the police station in the airport. im from that place and all my family still living there till now and my brother and siste are working in international airport.

Yep, my wife stayed there during her medical...it was a nice place, but they overcharged her by about 1000 php, so she refuses to stay there again.

That would get my vote too. I stayed there with my soon to be wife and made the reservations online then confirmed over the phone. We only stayed one night but it was pretty nice, clean and has a KFC attached. It's literally a rocks throw away from the international arrival ramp.
