Hi,

I read under employment visa and I can not fully understand what I am reading or if i am reading on the right forum. I wanted to know if there is any way that we can hire someone from the Philippines (like a relative) to help me out at home and she stays with us until i can manage to take care on my own. I was reading the H2B visa which is temporary non-agricultural visa. not sure if that is the right visa to file for. I do need a more simple, in layman's term guide for the process. We are not sure if we can really do this and if there is something we can do to get help someone from my native land instead of hiring strangers here in the US. We decided to do that so I will feel comfortable and not homesick that much if I have someone from my country to live with us even for awhile. We were thinking of getting my aunt who took care of me and my siblings as we were growing up. And if we are thinking wrong about our decision, please do give us advice. Honestly, i feel homesick a lot even after a year already and have a baby but i don't want to leave my husband alone and us going home. I know it's okay with him but i just feel guilty leaving him here while me and my baby go home and stay there for awhile that's why we were thinking of a way to have someone come here instead. Please help me captain ewok.

thanks

mish

Employment visas are given to people because there is no one in the US that can do the job. It doesn't matter that you prefer to have a relative help in the house, you would have to NOT be able to find someone already in the US that would work that job. So for housework the answer is no , you are not going to get a visa for that. For picking radiahes in 110 degree heat you may have some luck.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Perhaps you could all consider moving?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
