I have it all.. Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance.. I'm going to add my fiancee to my plan as soon as we are married. The cost of medical/ dental care is outrageous ! The cost of insurance is outrageous too and my premiums went up since Obamacare was passed. What a wonderful world we live in huh ?

I never asked my fiancee "hows your teeth" ? I love her no matter what and whatever happens, then it happens. Her family's teeth is pretty good compared to some I've seen in the province in Cebu. Actually.. I seen some people over there have better teeth than some Americans here.

We went to one woman dentist but she said we would have to go to another place to get the implant. We did go there and met with the woman oral surgeon. I could tell by her knowlege and just the way she evaluated her that she knew what she was doing. I decided to have the oral surgeon do most of the work if not all of it because she seemed so good. I found out in converstation that the oral surgeon is the teacher for the dental school too. My honey had her first tooth pulled and seven filings today and she requires more work. I believe the oral surgeon is in IT Park in Cebu if I remember right but I will email my fiancee and ask her name so if I do not reply, ask again and I will give you her name.

Generous I am but caring and sincere as well. Total cost for the work will be around $ 3,500 or 150,000 peso but it would be at least four times that in America.

I think this is the surgeon. Call there.

Okay, thanks for that info.

It's fair to assume that loved ones coming from 3rd world countries will need dental and medical work.

After I became involved with the woman I now love, I asked her how was her teeth? She told me she needed some work. We decided that the cost of dental care would be 1/4th it would be in the U.S.. When in the Philippines, I went with her to pick out the dentist she began her first dental treatment today. She will get at least one implant. I brought her some dental floss on my trip and now is using it on a daily basis.

I hope you guys are investing in your wives teeth first thing. Teeth that are unattended will eventually cause infections will eat away at the jaw bone.

Do you have any stories ?

I am not buying her a ring until she gets here but I am paying for a ring in dental cost while she is in Cebu. Ouch !!!

Looking at my wife, her teeth look better than mine - She is one of those big smilers that show both rows of teeth and plenty of gum (click on the "photos" you'll see what I mean).. Anyway yes I think it is a good idea to get as much medical/dental work done before they make the journey. My wife spent several years in the Dominican Republic and went to less than stellar dentists (not saying all DR dentists are bad but hers was bad bad bad)... So in the past few months they have pulled out all the temp fillings and replaced them and yanked out the wisdom teeth.

One thing I noticed in both the DR and in Colombia is a *LOT* of people - especially those in their early 20's to mid 30's - have braces. I think as people get a little extra money and the price has come down - and in the DR I know there were some cheaper alternatives that would not be allowed here - it has become important.

I don't believe it.. Prove it to me and I still won't believe it. -Ford Prefect

My husbands interview in Serbia is on September 27th but till then he has appointments with a dentist almost every week because the costs over there are much cheaper than they are here. I also plan on the next long vacation that I am there for to fix few major things because even with insurance its high over here for me at least
