Address for LPR

Good night all, I have a simple question, please forgive me if it has been asked already:

is it true that the address, or even the state that I had put on immigrant visa application form, is where I will have to stay for an extended period of time? Or can I live in another state as soon as I get the Permanent Resident Card?

Eg: I filled out the form and put Florida as the intended address, can after I get the green card, move to another state, such as Washington?

Thank you in advance.

You can move wherever you like (in the US) but you MUST fill out form AR-11 within 10 days of your move and let USCIS know that you moved.

This is correct. As long as you are a green card holder you are required to notify USCIS where you are living. If anyone sponsored you to get a green card (with an I-864 affidavit of support) then they also have to notify USCIS where they are living.

Thank you both. So, if I was filed for in Florida, can I stay in Florida for a few years and then move to another state? And when I move to the other state, I notify them as soon as I get an address in the new state?

You're free to move anytime you like. You're not required to live in any particular state. You are only required to live somewhere in the United States, and you're required to notify USCIS whenever you move.

Ok thank you very much. This is very much appreciated and I have knowledge that will assist me in the upcoming decisions. :)
