Once i-130 is approved; jumpstarting the next step

My i-130 was just approved, and as I am trying to speed along the process I was wondering if anybody has ever submitted their forms to the national visa center BEFORE receiving the packet of papers that is the "next step." Is this possible to do, or must one wait for the National visa center to send the packet of documents stating what one needs to send, etc.? Since i know what we will need to send, this seems kind of pointless to wait, but i am not sure if there is something included in this packet that i must submit with our documents (such as a national visa case number perhaps?)

Also, is it possible to find the of-169 and of 230 somewhere online that is most up-to-date?

Thank you for your help!

Nothing can be submitted to the NVC until a case number has been assigned by them and the appropriate bills are paid.

First you will need to know if the NVC has received your file. Call them at 1-603-334-0700, when the recording comes on, push 1, then push 5, that takes you straight to an operator. Per Dave's suggestion, the best time to reach an operator is 10PM-midnight Eastern Time (7-9pm Pacific). The operator will ask for you for your NVC case number or USCIS receipt number, since you don't have an NVC case number yet, you will give them the USCIS receipt number. They will be able to see if your file is in the building or not. If it's in the building, they will tell you the date they received it and then tell you wait X amount of days before it's scanned into the system. Once it's in the system, the NVC case number will be generated as well as an Invoice Identification Number (IIN). Once you have the NVC case number, the DS-3032 can be submitted by email from the beneficiary, see this wiki for more information on submitting the DS-3032 by email, I'll say again it's your SPOUSE who sends this email.

Once you have an IIN, you will be able to access the online payment portal and pay the AOS Bill. Once the DS-3032 is accepted, the IV bill will be generated. Once the AOS and IV bills are paid, the appropriate paperwork can be submitted. Remember, AOS and IV are separate tracks and will require the appropriate barcoded cover sheets that you print from the online payment portal.

You can find the I-864 and DS-230 online, I have linked them below:

Oh thank you for the links and great information! I see you received your NOA2 about the same day as i did, and yet NVC contacted you that fast? Really? That's crazy, considering I've been waiting almost a month.

{GENERAL QUESTION--to anybody--]So there is no OF-69 or OF-230 that IIIII have to submit? just the ds-230? it appears from what i've read and heard that this appears to be the case, since no one mentions receiving by snail mail any packet of forms!

Thank you!

Ryan:

I thought you've been there done that. But comes out you still haven't got a case number.

For me my P2 was July 11. The files got to NVC on July 29. I got the NVC case number, GUZ number August 12 and I immediately emailed the DS-3032 as well as requested electronic process. Next monday Aug 15 I got the new GZO case number for electronic processing. So far there is no confirmation that the DS-3032 was accepted into the system yet, nor was a bill generated even though I have the IIN number. They just keep telling me to wait 10 to 20 business days.

Odd that in the past, people pretty much was able to get the DS-3032 package and instruction in the email and be able to pay the bills right away.

Any other people experience long delay between getting their NVC case number, and being able to pay the bills?
