Under administration process

Could someone please help me to explain what I can expect outcome of wife's visa application.

1) My wife has attended her immigrant visa interview at the US Embassy New Delhi on Dec.07,2010

At the interview she was handout 221g to submit proof of relationship.

2) She submitted all the required documents with her passport at vfs office on Dec.15,2010

3) Embassy keep all the documents and sent her passport back with the letter says

"you are in mandatory administration process, we will contact you when the process is complete".

4) On Dec.29,2010 she got a call from Embassy and asked her some questions most of them were from

the documents we submitted. Same day 5 other people were called and asked if they attend the marriage,

If they know when, where and how long she married. Once again same day they called my wife ask some more questions.

5) On Dec.30,2010 she got another call from Embassy to submit her passport at vfs office.

6) On January 08,2011 a letter received from the Embassy dated January 05,2011 says that priority date your

petition has retrogressed, consular officers are not authorized to process your case.

you can contact us when your date reached.

7) On January 11,2011 she received her passport back with her birth certificate, our marriage certificate,

voter id card , our correspondence letters, cards and photos with the same letter(dated January 10,2011)

we received dated January 05.2011

The only items Embassy kept were my relationship statement,my wife's relationship statement, Her parents statement.

Marriage cards from both sides , telephone call records and western union money transfer receipts.

Now as per August 2011 visa bulletin priority date of my wife's visa case is current. Sometime in the middle of July,

2011 I already sent an email to the Embassy to inform them as they said in the letters to contact them once priority

date becomes current again. I did not get any response from the Embassy yet.

Today I called DOS to find out what is going on with my wife'case. They told me she is under Administration process.

I really don't understand this process please help me if someone in the same situation or

someone have idea or experience what could be going on with her case and how long will take

to resolve my wife's case. Appreciate....

Hi...

I am in a similar situation like yours.

MY PD is 05/2008. I was a LPR sponsoring my wife and daughter through I-130. we had our visa interview on 12/2010. we were put on ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW for no valid reason. on January 2011 F2A visa retrogression happened. our case was no more current to complete the AR process. our case was struck in DOS for last 08 months.

during that period I applied for my citizenship and I became an US citizen last month.

I did contact DOS and US consulate back home several times through phone/email. but so far no luck. still I am waiting for a positive response from them.

I was struck in this visa process for almost 3.5 years. I am so dissapointed & stressful with this issues. I really miss my family!

Thanks.

KURAISH.

Hi Kuraish thanks for sharing your situation with me. At one point a visa specialist

at DOS even told me that my AP was completed on January 04,2011 . Now when I called

they were talking again about pending AP. It's a really stressful process.

Thanks

Did you think the DOS was not working in our cases for last 08 months because our case is not current? approximately how long do you think it will take DOS to complete the AP from this point?

Also, whether we need to provide a new AOS(I-864) for the consulate before they issue the visa?

Please let me know.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Kuraish

I was told by the DOS that my case can not go forward until my priority date reaches. So clearly they were saying that the Embassy was not working on my case during the time of retrogression. Even now my priority is current from starting August 01,2011., I still did not hear anything from the Embassy .They have not even answer my emails. My case is at the Us Embassy New Delhi. I heard that the AP time is uncertain. At this point we don't know what has expired and what has not.

Thanks

Thanks for the response. we are in the same boat! there is NO OPTION except for waiting to get a response from DOS/US Consulate.

I think we are very unfortunate to get struck in AP+ Visa retrogression. its a double blow!

I am really frustrated with this whole visa process.... :crying:

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi,

I'm going through the same process, my husband was put on AP after his interview on Aug 15, 2011. He was given a blue slip and told it could take days, weeks or even months but not to worry as far as the CO was concerned everything looked good and he will have his visa in hand after the AP is completed! and also not to call the embassy that might delay his case further..

My question is what is DOS and can anyone give me their phone number so I can check the progress of my husband's case.

thank you.

Hello members,

I have an update on my wife's case want to share with you and want to know what it could be. This morning around 6.00 am ET , I checked the VFS passport track web , it says "Your passport has been handed over to Blue Dart for delivery on 05-Oct-2011" . Around 8.35 am ET , I called the DOS to find out If there is any update on our case. The visa specialist officer asked me that where is your wife now. I replied she is in India. She said that she has to contact the consulate. I asked her if my wife's case is approved . She said yes. It makes me little confuse why she did tell me if visa was issued or not. Then I decided to call back again around 9.30 am 2nd officer told me that they (Consulate) are ready to issue the visa to your wife and she added do not buy the ticket until she gets her passport. So, Is it sounds like they already paste the visa in the passport. Appreciate for help.
