Yes there are still bigots in the Military, just like civilian life. But that doesn't mean such behavior should be condoned. The Military has means to deal with soldiers harassing or attacking fellow soldiers.

Back when I was in, we had ways of dealing with people also. It was called a "blanket party" and everyone was invited.

As far as condoning and not condoning...why should any family man and/or military man condone homosexuality?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

That's if the commanders in charge agree with the prosecution. Even military leaders will hide things. I would be willing to bet that most of them don't agree with lifting the don't ask don't tell policy either.

She's from an island with no electricity and no running water. If I asked her in Russian I would get the same response.

My husband (and that went across the entire military) had to attend a "class" where they talked about the new policies, homosexuality and how it's "all good".

I think, the homosexuals who are already in the military will be very careful to "come out" as they probably know how their coworkers are thinking and talking about gay people. Now, new recruits might think it's all nice and peachy now and I think they will be up for a very rude awakening.

It doesn't mean she is a friction ignorant idiot, maybe it just means she has never been around a gay service member in the Philippines. Maybe you should read what you write before posting it so you don't offend someone.

I'm not surprised. After all, you are a loathsome, illiterate, uneducated and morally bankrupt rube.

yada yada... the day I start talking to my ol lady about fine wine, gourmet food, and Cannes Film Festival is the day my nuts got cut off by a weed whacker.

What do you talk to her about?

I would guess 15 - 20% of the convo's are about my addiction to VJ, then the usual "how was your day", then on to this town is a sh*t hole (like I don't already know that), and then it's dinner and TV time mixed in with some sex if she's lucky.

Despite using incognito mode on your browser?

When she's 6' away from me and see's me typing not to mention every time she walks into the kitchen she can see my laptop screen is open to this site...ya she's getting the sh*ts of it. If the union doesn't call me back to work here pretty soon, I'm going to have to get another hobby other than this site/internet or she's going to get even more whacked about it. I'm pressing my luck as it is.
