Hey! I in the same exact situation as you except I a not well organized etc lol. . I met the woman from Cebu, I love, also on-line. I went over there after about 3 months (in may) and stayed 8 days. I also like you have the means to go back, but as the manager of a manufacturing operation taking Vacation in 7-8 day chunks is very hard to do.

Anyway we filled and got our NOA-1 about 2 months ago. The only requiremenrt is that you have met in person 1 time in the past two years. Also I don't think you need mountains of chat logs and E-mail. Just all your receipts from time in Cebu, copes of you passport etc etc, the 129 list is posted here. You just need proof of an ongoing relationship along with the other required documents, pictures etc.

Hope you liked Cebu and enjoyed it as much as I did.

.

Did you fly from the east coast. That long plane ride was something wasn't it.

Plesae let me know if you get approved as you are ahead of me. I came from Orlando Florida but the plane flight from Detroit to Japan was a killer. I remember asking the lady how long we had been flying and I thought she would tell me 8-9 hours but she said about 5 hours. Holy #######. I thought I was going to die. Can't sleep, nothing to do, no internet. I think next time, I will take the lay over somewhere. From my house to Manila airport was just under 23 hours with lay over. Lol, never been there before and expecting Abu Sayyaf Terriost to kidnap me right there at the airport. I was nervous landing in Manila but when I saw 10 other Americans in line with me, I calmed down. I survived ! I stayed on Mactan Island at the White Sands Resort.

My husband went to the Philippines to meet me just once and just 5 days!!! We didn't have any problems with the application...as long as you can establish your genuine relationship and the affidavit of support, you're good to go!

Good luck!

Smurfs... I won't have any problems with the application we will get approved for an interview because we meet the basic requirements. Did you get the Visa ? It is the interview and them saying you got the Visa. That is what counts. I am hopeful after reading a few of the Embassy reviews though.

I feel your pain, Dale, I was on a Boeing 777 between Atlanta and Tokyo and the only thing that kept me from going insane :help: was the personal video monitor on the back of the seat right in front of me that I could watch movies and TV shows on, and thank God drinks were free. The 747 hop from NRT to Manila was cake compared to that.

I have met the woman I want to marry on-line and visited her two months later for 11 days. I am interested in those who know others that have been successful after only one trip, not two trips, not three or more but one trip !

More information...

My due diligence and hours of Skyping with her proved successful because we had the best time together, we do want to be married and have children together, we will be able to show 1-3 hours of chat logs up until our interview, there will be phone calls and many, many emails through this process. I am very orgainized and documented. We spent 11 days together in a resort in Cebu. Provided that she stands up to the grilling of the CO in Manila, what do you think our chances are since we have only met once ?

Barriers to travel...

My job in technology makes it difficult for me to travel again for 2 weeks straight and it is exspensive (all cost were around $ 5,000). I know a ticket only cost $ 1,700 but there are other cost. How big of a hurdle do you think we will climb to get the Visa Approved?

Commitment...

yes, I will go back again but she wants me to save the money and so do I. Success of a relationship doesn't matter on the length of time you have known someone but rather picking the right someone from the beginning. I was intentionally skeptical of every woman that I met and asked lots of questions before I got involved with this woman. She is a keeper. Please don't judge our fast decisions as we know the risk. I have people all around me that dated for years in America and are getting divorced. This woman and I are both cooperative and supportive people and I think we have a great chance and I am willing to accept a calculated risk because of who I think she is and who I am.

hi...i'm from the island of Bohol but used to work in Cebu City as a Veterinarian...i met my husband online too talking about dogs...since the day that we met online we communicated regularly thru email and chat ...we met in June 2010, he decided to visit me in the Philippines by July 2010 and apply for his passport then he travelled to the Philippines last August 2010 and stayed their with me to met my family and friends for 14 days...on that travel we got engaged and by September 2010 we sent our application for a K1 visa...i got approved last May 2011 and got here in the US last June...why i tell you my story is that i want to let you know that its not the lenght of time you know each other but its the deeper feeling that you feel for each other and how you love and care for each other...and how well she knows you...they might ask some important personal information about you and about how you met...but of course you and your fiance have to be strong and patient when you go thru the process coz' at the end of it you'll feel much more rewarded when you have each other in your arms...so go for it...there's a big chance that you will be approve...as long as she will be honest and truthful in her feelings during the interview...Good luck...

The rules are clear that you must have met in person within two years, not met once or twice or a dozen times, just MET, period. Don't let condescending ppl talking down to you about "making excuses" or financial realities being a weak excuse for not making multiple trips bother you.

We only met once also, we had no problems, Nida has been here 3 weeks now. Just try to get good evidence for the interview, letters are better than emails or chat logs and keep the envelopes with postmarks, datestamped pics are good also, try to get pics in several places, phone bills that show the actual phone number and length of calls are good too. And of course boarding passes, hotel receipts, resturants, and shopping receipts. Good luck to everyone!

It is a nerve-wracking process, but doesn't need to be explained in such great depth --

The fact is if you are in a legitimate relationship, have met at least once for five or more seconds, and have the finances to support the beneficiary, the CO's in Manila have an uncanny and generally honed ability to smell a rat, or, conversely, know that it is bona fide, in which case you are approved. It is not their purpose to pass judgment -- many people meet online, and only visit once.

Barring anything suspicious in her own history (in the Philippines this translates to having worked as a bargirl), you have no reason to be concerned about having met just once.

Good luck!

You will be fine. You have nothing to worry about. As long as you have pictures together, chatlogs, and screenshots that proves you have a genuine relationship you will be fine. The most important requirement is that you met prior the petition and you did so, just relax!!! Everything will be fine. I know some Filipina -American couples who just met once and now living in the USA with their loved ones good.gif Goodluck on your Visa journey!! God Bless!!!
