3 weeks since medical and no anything yet!

NVC approved -K1 visa for myself to move to the US

So today I phoned the London Embassy helpline to find out whether or not I should be contacting via email to find out why theres a big delay in any information about my interview date.

Now everything ive looked at so far says once the medical papers are recived it takes about 7 days to send out the interview date! Well this may have been true last year but now it all been changed. Heres what I was told today by the London US Embassy.

From the date the paperwork is recieved and if there are no problems it now takes 4 weeks to process the paperwork and a following 3 weeks to send out the interview date.

So thats 7 weeks now from when they recieve all your paperwork including the 2001 form stating you are ready. (of course you need to have a medical as soon as possible)

Hope this helps for those who have just had there medical and are not sure how long the wait will be

Darren

  • 3 weeks later...

I got the same info. We paid for the interview on 7/18, and they processed it on 7/20. I called the London on 8/12 only to find out the same 4 weeks, then 3...thankfully this week is the 7th...so hopefully we get a date. It is driving us mad. It seems like the closer it gets, the harder the waiting becomes. Best of luck!

I had no idea there was another fee to pay besides the medical fee? How/ what do I need to pay it?

I'm going to try to contact the NVC to get my case number so I can just schedule my medical now, then hopefully when London gets my papers they'll already have the results.
