So package 3 arrived via email yesterday from the sydney embassy. YESS! But, it has left me a bit confused....

This is the link for the instructions for package 3: http://canberra.usembassy.gov/fiance_niv_appl.html

The first step it lists is:

1. Complete and return immediately to this office the form DS-230, Immigrant Visa Application Part I, Biographic Data. We cannot process your case until this form is received.

BUT...then it says at the end... When you have gathered all documentation, complete and mail the DSL-1076 form to the U.S. Consulate General, Sydney. That office will contact you with your visa interview time. Please do not fax forms DS-230 Part I and DSL-1076, the originals must be mailed.

I sent DS-230 today thinking it's better to be safe then sorry. But, I hope this doesn't confuse them. Was I wrong to do this? I just didn't have everything else ready and it seemed a bit unclear to me.

I am just waiting on my medical results which I am hoping to get tomorrow. So, if I do get them should another DS-230 form with my "big package"?

Thanks! I'm just getting nervous. But, I still think that the instructions from the website are very unclear! ekk!

Also one more question. Only my fiance, the australian, has to submit his birth certificate this round? I left mine in America and it's a pain to ship over if we don't really need it.

Thanks for your help. It's nice to know there are other aussie/american's out there!
