Your employer applied for a visa for you, therefore you need to focus on finding one first.

but then what if i already got an employer. then after that theyll be the one working on all my papers? thanks for the answer.

Yes - either they or more likely their lawyer.

Just may want to do a reality check against chances of finding someone who'll apply for a work visa for english teacher in english speaking country - there is lots of teachers loosing their jobs at this moments. If you already found one - congrats, you're incredibly lucky.

Do some research please - you can't get a work visa without employer filing for you. You can get a visitor visa, on which you will not be eligible for work and disclosing "looking for work" to CBP as a reason to visit US while entering US would likely result in denied entry.

i agree with kzielinski.. as of the moment, some of the states in the US has frozen hiring expat teachers. Maryland as of the moment has a problem cause expat teachers' contracts will not be renewed until 2013.. It used to be an engaging opportunity for teachers before, but with the economic crisis and cutbacks, i guess teacher jobs will be less likely available. My mother in law, a USC and a teacher by profession had been advising me of the status since I am a teacher by profession too...

I guess you missed all the economic downturn that happened in the US starting end of 2007 and still ongoing  People laid off - in hundreds of thousands.

And at least in Ohio almost every week in local news I've been hearing about shrinking budgets for schools.

Anyway - if OP can find an employer that will file for him - lucky him. Just saying - do a reality check to avoid disappointment.

all states in the US are still experiencing the economic issues of recession.. US is still trying to bounce back from it, so it is safe to say that most states are still on a tight education budget.. please dont think of intending to apply for a tourist visa and then looking for a job in the US.. that's a big no-no.. ICE. INS and DHS are very keen on checking undocumented workers..

This all a bit weird. Now my French is not good enough to teach it but say it was, the last place I would look to teach it would be France.

Having said that there are 300,000,000 potential ESL customers in the US.

Say you are one of ESL customer would you prefer to have an American as your English teacher or a Philipino for whom English is a second language... :)

A no brainer.
